WW2 British Army Webbing, Finnigans Ltd, Dispatch/Map Case/Bag 

This is an original WW2 British Army Webbing, Finnigans Ltd, Dispatch/Map Case/Bag in Heavy Khaki Tan Canvas used by the military for keeping maps/dispatches dry and clean.

It has two feeder webbing straps on the rear to allow it to be slid on to a military belt, and two brass press studs on the front to close the bag. There are compartments for pens/pencils, a clear covered pouch for storing maps/documents away from the elements, and a thin hard writing board insert to rest your map or paper on.

Made by Finnigans Ltd, who were better known as a high quality British Luggage maker: founded in 1830 and eventually becoming a luxury department store in Wilmslow, Cheshire, prior to closing in 1988.

External Depth (seam to seam): less than 2 cm (when closed and empty)

There are signs of wear, including some scuffing, staining, and blemishes on the fabric but in extremely good condition for its age and may have never been issued.

All the seams are intact and there is a printed label, Finnigans 1944, and the Military WW2 'broad arrow' stamped on the inside. It is probably no longer waterproof.
